Here’s the latest from our sourcing team:
Salmon prices have stayed even this week, but it should start to lower into the middle of next week.
ASC Certified Salmon from Kvaroy (Norway) and Grieg (Canada) will be available all week.
NZ King Salmon supply has been really short this week due to rain storms in NZ.
European Steelhead supply remains low as most farms are still focusing on producing salmon instead.
Fresh Tuna supply has been strong this week, prices have remained pretty low considering where the market has been lately. We have tuna in from Brazil, Trinidad and South Africa.
Swordfish supply has been steady this week. We have imports in from Ecuador and Canada.
Cod supply has improved. Iceland is catching more fish the past few weeks.
Black Sea Bass supply remains tight, pricing has stayed high the whole week.
Jumbo Fluke has been strong this week.
American Red Snapper are in good supply.
Fresh Farmed Bronzini prices remain high. Limited air flights and labor shortages continue to drive rising costs.
Fresh Halibut has been in good supply this week, prices are high and staying firm. The hurricane effected supply in the beginning of the week, but supply seems to have caught up.
Wild Striped Bass supply is coming back. we received a small shipment in today. It was the first delivery in a couple months, and hopefully a sign of things to come.
Live Lobster Canadian hard-shells are becoming more limited, but Maine lobster production is increasing.
The Frozen Lobster meat market is loosening up little by little each week.
The U/10 and 10/20 scallop market is lowering a little every 2-3 weeks, we should continue to see prices lower.
East Coast Oyster Supply has picked up in most areas (NY, MA, Canada) and we should see more available in the weeks to come. West Robbins is off-line for about 6 weeks due to lack of supply. Bluepoints have rebounded after the recent rain caused closures
West Coast Oyster are becoming more available as we get into fall.
Manila Clam quality has improved over the last week or so, we will look to stock more since the quality is rebounding.
Fresh Squid is available but supply has been limited.
Fresh Lump and Jumbo Lump Crabmeat supply remain steady.
We are getting in shipments offresh Hamachi Fillets in weekly.
Frozen Hamachi Fillets are in steady supply.
Maine Uni is back! Supply has been steady this week.
There will be issues with supply from Canada and Florida for next week. Both were hit with hurricanes and will effect shipping and supply of items. We will keep you posted as we hear more information, no one is sure just how badly supply will be effected.
